Penzance Model Boat Club

About Us

Penzance Model Boat Club was founded in 1955, about the same time as the local Rotary Club built the public boating pool just off Western Promenade Road in Wherrytown, Penzance.

The pool is fresh water and is used by club members on Thursday and Sunday afternoons from around 1.30pm depending on the weather. The council do not allow i/c boats at the pool.

Members have a variety of boats, fast electric, sailing yachts and scale models. We enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with only the basic rules governing public safety, members’ rights and the environment.

We also meet on the first Wednesday of each month at around 7.30 pm at the Queen’s Hotel on Western Promenade Road near the junction with Morrab Road. Most members indulge in a little indoor helicopter flying after the meeting.
